Review: Heart of Stone (Gargoyles #1) by Christine Warren Released: 31 December 2013

I'm a fan of Ms Warren's Others series and Heart of Stone is similar in genre and writing style.
What I liked: I enjoy breaking up my reading and Ms Warren's books are quick, easy, entertaining reads. This is a paranormal romance so the action takes second place to the romance. There are a couple of hot and steamy scenes between Ella and Kees (I love that name by the way). I've read other gargoyle books but this one seemed to make more sense to me.
What I didn't like: While I enjoyed the story, both Ella and Kees seemed flat until later in the book. I never did completely connect with either one. This sometimes happens with me when reading the first in a series. I think I would have liked Ella's back story earlier in the book.
Overall a good read and I will try the next in the series, Stone Cold Lover, expected out late August 2014.
The good news is the pricing. The Kindle edition is $4.78 and the paperback is $5.03
