Early Review: One Kiss More (U.S. Marshals #2) by Mandy Baxter - Releases 24 Feb 2014
Better than the first!!
What I liked: One Kiss More ticked all my romantic suspense boxes. A smart, take no prisoners heroine and a sexy, fight the attraction male. Emma is running circles around Landon and the U.S Marshals but they can't figure out why. What's not to love!!
Ms Baxter (aka Amanda Bonilla) is a proven author and trying her hand at romantic suspense is a great decision. The books in this series so far are quick, easy reads but don't skimp on the suspense or the romance. While romance isn't the driver for me in a romantic suspense, it more than held my attention this time round.
From the opening scene between Emma and Landon, you know something more is going on with Emma than just a ditzy, attention seeker. Landon and his fellow U. S. Marshals just have to figure out exactly what it is!!
What I didn't like: So, One Kiss More isn't the next Iris Johansen for me but is very well written and developed. There was really nothing not to like.
What I really enjoyed about this book is Emma's character. She's extremely well written and developed with smarts and snark. I thought at first her age would put me off but she's been through enough that she comes across as a more mature heroine.
While you don't need to read the first in the series, One Night More, I'd recommend it as the characters are recurring. I'm looking forward to more in this series by Ms Baxter.
Recommended!!!!
