Review: Urban Shaman (Walker Papers #1) By C.E. Murphy

Urban Shaman - C.E. Murphy

I’m re-reading this entire series.

Occasionally you get so far into a series and just can’t remember everything that has happened. This is especially true if there is a bit of time between books and if you’re like me, you read a lot of different authors with series. I was getting ready to read the most current C. E. Murphy book I have and realized I had completely lost the storyline line and with my 50-something year old memory, I was almost lost.

That’s the great thing about reading. You can re-do it. I find myself rereading bunches of books. Enough about me, my memory and etc.

Urban Shaman, the second time through was like a brand new series for me. I’d missed so much or should I say forgotten it. I adore Ms Murphy’s characters. They are so well fleshed out and filled in that it’s like making a new friend. Joanne has always been one of my favorites leads. Yea, she’s kickass but she’s human. She has doubts, makes mistakes and she’s funny too.

This series is a bit different than some and that makes it interesting, to me at least. The writing flows smoothly, the detail is fantastic and you just get involved with the story. The action goes on and on, so take a breath when you can.

You do have to suspend any belief system you have to enjoy not only this first in the series but the following ones too.  Don't worry Joanne is having the same problems.  She has no idea what is going on, not only with herself but the world around her.  Like I said, it is one wild ride.

There is absolutely nothing I didn't like about Urban Shaman.  It's a fantastic first book in the series.  Ready for something new and different, try this one out!!
