Review: Deadly Forecast (Psychic Eye Mystery, #11) by Victoria Laurie

Deadly Forecast - Victoria Laurie

I've been with this series from the beginning, even though I took a break and had to play catch up.

What I liked:  Ms Laurie has a unique writing style.  She actually sound like she's writing as she talks.  Does that make sense?  I enjoy this series because it's easy reading but with drama and mystery.  The writing makes you feel like you are in the story.

After 11 books, you would think the characters and the mysteries would become stale, but Ms Laurie seems to always find a way to keep it fresh and interesting.  I liked that she had characters from her other series, Ghost Hunter Mystery, as a part of Deadly Forecast.  Again, it kept it fresh.

Dutch is a favorite of mine.  Abby can be a bit high maintenance but Dutch knows just how to handle/work with her.  I certainly enjoy Abby's sister, Cat, even though she can be a bit of a pain.

What I didn't like:  The worst part for me was that Abby didn't TALK with Dutch about what was going on with her.  It just didn't seem plausible that she wouldn't clue him in.  Can't go into more detail than that without giving spoilers.

Overall, this series will stay on my "to be read" shelf.  Each entry is a delight.

The paperback is reasonably priced at $7.99 but holy cow, the Kindle edition is $9.78.  I've no clue except the book initially released as a hardcover.

Recommend.
